Thanks for the invite to be included in the photo shoot. Unfortunately, this event was inaccessible, down the cobbled Gold Hill, for myself.
Also, thanks for the invite to join in the 'drinks' afterward. I had a pre-arranged lift with my friend, however, which meant I could not attend.
I would like to find a more two-way communication going on with myself from this group, so that these kinds of limitations do not occur.
Thank you for flagging up the need for us all to be aware of accessibility issues - of which there are many in Shaftesbury. The Critical Mass event itself followed an accessible hard-surfaced, level route along which many photos were taken. The Gold Hill photo shoot and various drinks/coffees etc afterwards were not pre-planned and neither did they include all participants in the event. However, it must have been frustrating for you to want to linger and enjoy a spontaneous sociable drink when you had pre-arranged a lift and needed to leave.
I anticipate that our meeting in May (16th) could provide an opportunity for us to review together how Planet Shaftesbury is working - both for ourselves as individuals and as a collective agent for change. I hope this conversation can continue then.
Thankyou, Rachel, for your reply. I do hope to be part of discussions/conversations.
If a group was able to get off the ground in Gillingham, that would be most workable for me.
I have tried to start up a group. the interest is just not there either for Animal Liberation or for general concern for the state of the world. Incredible but true.
