About the Event
Writing the Land provides an opportunity for a small group to enjoy an author-led activity designed to inspire writing about nature and place. The event happens in central Shaftesbury, starting with a cup of tea or coffee, followed by a short writing exercise. Then participants will gather together for a stroll, before returning to capture their thoughts and inspirations in prose or poetry.
About Jane Adams: Wildlife and wild places have fascinated Jane all her life, but especially since she became a full-time carer sixteen years ago. From 2007 to 2015, she wrote an award-winning online wildlife blog and her writing has featured locally in Dorset magazine, BV Magazine and Dorset Wildlife as well as for the BBC’s Countryfile and Wildlife Magazines. For the National Trust she has written Nature's Wonders: Moments that Mark the Seasons, an exploration of 50 magical moments that define our seasons. A passionate amateur naturalist, Jane is slightly obsessed with wild bees, wildlife gardening and old gnarly trees.
