About the Event
A Dorset COP is being put together by Zero Carbon Dorset, Sustainable Dorset, and the Dorset Climate Action Network (D-CAN). Mark & Neil of ZCD write:
Dorset COP (Conference of the Parties) is Dorset’s very own opportunity for the community to have its say on the climate and ecological crises. By bringing together a wide cross section of community-based groups from across the county we hope to raise awareness of the need and desire to act locally, in a way that puts people at the heart of decisions and is socially just.
By connecting a diverse range of groups, committed to a common cause, it aims to both raise awareness among our leaders of the scale of support for action across the county and forge even greater links between those already leading, creating, designing and implementing community-based solutions. It is hoped this will enhance and support the network of community-based environmental and climate-change organisations in Dorset and that this networking event will become an annual event.
The event will take place on Saturday 9th September at the Corn Exchange in Dorchester and this Thursday we'll be sharing the plans we've been working on with co-hosts Dorset Climate Action Network (CAN) and Sustainable Dorset to make this a truly groundbreaking event for the whole of the county.
We're really keen to start to extend the reach of the event, hear your feedback on our plans and broaden the discussion on how we can make the most of the day.
No need to register - just sign in using the link below ready for 7.30 pm. We anticipate the session will last for c.45-60 minutes maximum.
We hope you can join us.
