About the Event
A series being organised by Alex More for pupils from across SAST schools.
Planet Shaftesbury is more involved in some days than others - offering workshop leaders, speakers, finding speakers, helping with admin on the day etc.Â
Alex previously described the day looking at fashion: This workshop focuses on a problem of our times: fast, disposable fashion. Students will learn about a clothes jump in Accra, Ghana then join our partner school live in Ghana for a discussion. Working with our textiles staff and a local start-up, students will have to design ethical clothing whilst considering closed loop production and marketing. Maths and art sit at the heart of this workshop.
This rescheduled day is as follows:
9 - 12 (Primary students making garments from upcycled items)Â
1-3pm - live Catwalk, secondary students judge
If you have a special interest and want to become involved please email planetshaftesbury@gmail.com to be put in touch with the person taking the lead on the specific day.Â
The other postponed sessions focus on food and music, details will appear on our website when we have them.
