About the Event

Note  we won't have access to the room till 7.30pm but will wait outside beforehand. Please be mindful of our Covid precautions.

At our monthly meeting in October we found that there simply wasn't sufficient time for a mindful conversation that had been suggested. We recognised that this time pressure is not unusual at our standard meetings so we have allocated this evening - which would otherwise have been set aside for a Zoom call - for a conversation.

This conversation will start with the acknowledgement that all of us who are part of the Planet Shaftesbury network are responding to an awareness of a breakdown. The period of our planet's existence where the climate was predictable and nature was abundant has ended. We know that human activity, including our own, has contributed to this breakdown and we're making changes in our own lives. Each in our own ways, we'd like to have a positive influence on others as well.

Using this as a starting point we'll talk and listen to one another. Other than setting a time limit there's no structure and no defined objective. The only rule is to listen with an open mind to what is happening in the group and within ourselves.

At the end of the time allocated we'll decide whether this type of conversation has been helpful and we want an opportunity to continue, and/or whether we want a similar opportunity for a different conversation.

Covid precautions:

Of course, if you have any Covid-like symptoms you should stay at home but, if you're well and want to come along, what do you need to do?

  • Use sanitiser on entry
  • Make sure you're seated so as to enable social distancing.
  • The room will be well ventilated so dress warmly.
  • Feel free to bring your own water or hot drink.
