The next Planet Shaftesbury meeting is Thursday 18th April. As this one falls during Extinction Rebellions 'International Rebellion' we will be showing some of XRs introductory talk to explain the climate crisis, what needs to be done and why non violent direct action can be effective for creating change.
7.30pm - Notices & updates
8.00pm - Showing of: 'Climate Breakdown - Heading for Extinction and What to Do About It' (The Oxford talk with George
Monbiot, Zahara Plummer and Rachel Trehan)
9.00pm - Discussion time during which we can acknowledge our individual response to the information on climate breakdown,
we will also consider how we want to respond together locally and regionally.
Join the Shaftesbury Extinction Rebellion contingent for International Rebellion. The South-West groups will be rewilding Waterloo Bridge into the 'Garden Bridge' with trees, a pond and a solar powered truck stage. There will be street performance, music, picnics, gardening and more across London.
Get in touch if you want to join us, even if you can only make it for one day!
Remember to bring your friends along to the Critical Mass Walk & Cycle Ride on April 20th, starting 10am at the Town Hall and heading round town to Mampitts Lane. Let's raise awareness of climate & ecological crisis - and have fun!
