About the Event
Planet Shaftesbury is building on experience gained during 2019 to encourage and support more practical actions during 2020.
Our next monthly meeting starts at 7.30pm on Jan 16th and will provide the usual opportunities to meet other participants and hear about forthcoming activities. In addition, from 8pm, there will be a discussion focused on cycling and the practical steps needed to make Shaftesbury a cycle-friendly town. What changes are being considered by the town and unitary councils? How can cycling be made safer, encouraging more people to do it? How could Shaftesbury attract more cyclists as visitors to the town? And, if you're keen to see these changes take place, what can you do to help? The town council's intentions will be presented by Brie Logan, STC's Business Manager who will be with us until 9pm.
The discussion about making Shaftesbury cycle-friendly will obviously be of interest to keen or frustrated cyclists, but it is also an example of a change project where local activists need town council support. Brie will be happy to consider wider issues in her discussions with us, where time permits.
After the discussion we'll clarify any 'next steps' before we close at 9.30pm.
We look forward to seeing you all there!
