Following on from 'Shaftesbury 2030: Choosing our future' we'd like to organise a public event that looks at ways of reducing emissions linked to our local travel. We'll share ideas and shape an event for the autumn. Taking the place of an online session this month. Open to all. Free admission.

Time & Location
07 Jul 2022, 19:30 – 08 Jul 2022, 21:00
The Grosvenor Arms (in the library), High St, Shaftesbury SP7 8JA, UK
About the Event
Informal & friendly! This in-person meeting replaces our online meeting tonight. We can shape our agenda around those who turn up but a key topic will be our local transport needs.
In our rural area many of us are very dependent on private cars to get about. Replacement of fossil-fuelled vehicles with electric ones for everyone is neither sustainable or affordable. What could lead to a reduction in the carbon footprint of travel around Shaftesbury? We'll be joined by a guest from Tisbury where an electric car club has recently got going.
We will continue to be cautious about Covid, staying away if we have any symptoms or have tested positive, respecting one another's space, keeping the room ventilated, and with mask-wearing optional.
