Great Big Dorset Hedge Campaign

Hedgerows will be one of the themes for the Planet Shaftesbury/Greener Gillingham stall at the Spring Countryside Show. Let's build some momentum locally!

This meeting is considering:

• Engaging with existing planting groups.
• Reaching out to Town & Parish Councils - starting with those who have signed the Dorset Deserves Better campaign, and others that might be the starting points N,E,S,W of the GBDH.
• Creating a database to capture relevant contacts, information on plantings, grants, sources of trees, etc.
• Setting up a mapping base on which the GBDH can take shape.
• Developing a range of promotional materials to engage the variety of stakeholders: members, the wider public, farmers, landowners, relevant organisations ASONB, CPRE, FWAG, CLU, NFU etc.
• What ‘Tipping Points’ might help us? (Perhaps getting a large landowner on side would be a good starting point?)
• Media support, deciding logos and how the GBDH fits within the website, Twitter, and Facebook etc.
