I've been in touch by email with those I know have been interested in contacting their MP about their concerns over the climate and environment. My involvement so far has been mainly with North Dorset constituents but some Planet Shaftesbury members live in the South West Wiltshire constituency. I’ve arranged a Zoom training session with Laura Burley from Greenpeace’s political lobbying network. She will be talking us through the elements of lobbying our MP. There will be opportunity to ask questions from your experience so far. She has said she is happy to arrange another session if there are areas you’d like to cover more fully. Laura is approachable and warm, as well as being very well informed. The session will be at 7.30 p.m. on Thursday 25th February. In addition, I would love to hear from you if you have been receiving the monthly emails you are receiving via the Planet Shaftesbury email address. Are they helpful in supporting you to keep the climate and ecological emergency on our MP’s agenda? Would more or fewer topics about which to contact him be useful?
