The government's own independent Committee on Climate Change has today produced a report criticising the government for lack of action to tackle & prepare for climate change. Amongst the points they make is that government needs to be engaging with the public - they point out that over half of the emissions cuts required to reach net zero require people to do things differently. Put another way, the actions we take that encourage people in Shaftesbury to do things differently can have a substantial impact on our local carbon emissions.
